Engaging with dance in a different way.

"White Flame"

This piece was inspired by the Ruth St. Denis poem Sanctuary. The work displays a human being in the practice of presence in both stillness and meditative motion. The practice of movement represents, in many ways, a shedding of the skin, a way to reach a higher version of oneself. The deepest part of truth is often discovered in the hottest part of ones flame, the white light.

Beyond the notion that “life is messy”, thelightfromtheabyss is a metaphor for the complexity of human beings. This project is an accurate portrait of an artist in her process and seeks to answer the question: who am I, today?
